Beneath the surface gives me a range of different ideas from been underneath the sea. Been buried beneath the ground or a deeper meaning of true feelings inside someones mind and in their heart, Beneath the surface of their skin.
If I was to chose beneath the surface my photographs would focus around Mental Health Issues within young people. It will be aimed to show what is beneath the surface of someones skin, How they feel, How they think, How they see the reality around them.
If I chose distortion i would take multiple photographs of different subjects or objects and distort them visually ( for example wrapping someones face in rope) or I will distort them with alternative means (for example poor acid on the paper)
Distortion has interesting ideas and techniques I can use to distort my photographs. Whether i distort the objects as I take the photographs or print normal portraits and then distort the photographs taking inspiration from Marija Strajnic 'Fifth Element Self Destruction' Series.
If I chose reflection my photographs would try and focus on complex and creative mirror photographs based and meaningful and deep as well as visually interesting photographs.
Reflection does not give me alot of variety when it comes to ideas. It mainly focuses on reflections in the mirror or a reflection of the water. Illusions can be pretty interesting and has so many ways of camera positioning can trick the perspective and alter the photograph which is very interesting.
Trapped gives me amazing ideas that closely comes under a section of Beneath the surface. It allows me to go into a range of interesting and deep ideas with the use of photoshop and post production effects would be a key part on this.
If I chose trapped i would focus on visually representing the struggle of been trapped in someones mind. Discussing social issues and problems such as mental health issues (Been trapped in your mind), relationships (Been trapped with someone abusive) and self identity (Been trapped in the wrong body)
These are selections of photographs that I have found during my research on Pinterest. The Titles represent what I believe theses photographs to be about. From anxiety to beauty to drowning in peace suffering internally
Lee Jeffries is a artist I am very interested in. His work is incredible and I will hope to take inspiration from his work capturing emotions.
Laura Hospes is a photographer who documents the mental health disorder of depression. I can use her ideas as inspiration to create deep photographs.

The work of Maren Klemp shows her theme of photography to be emotions of her subjects. Portraying visual emotions on what is beneath the surface of the skin. The inner emotions and feelings.
