Laura Hospes is a photographer suffering from suicidal thoughts and depressions. She uses her camera as a way to capture emotions that she can not show in real life. This can help enforce my work as I must portray and represent the feelings and emotions of mental disorders that are hard to show in real life. Her idea of colour been beautiful and happy to represent the present really interests me as she switched to black and white photographs as they represent the past and are timeless. This can help influence my work as I must use my skills and knowledge to create emotions through the contrast of colours and I will hope to create timeless photographs. She has used tone and texture to create striking photographs allowing us to see the hardship of a mental disorder. On alot of her images she uses direct mode of address, looking directly at the camera facing the audience, this idea can enforce my idea as by her expression and her eyes focused on looking at the camera we can see her feelings and see her tired emotions, She is drained and angry and upset. This can help my work as I can try to implement her technique into my project.
