Maren Klemp has worked on several projects and worked on her first book in 2014. This book was called Intervals. It is a visual representation of conditions people can experience with mental health. She has wanted to explore the psychology between different states of mind and what they actual look like she considers her photographs "To be a plunge into the darker sides of the human mind" Many of her photographs are visual representations of conditions linked towards mental illness.
Using the work of Maren Klemp i must make my photographs explore the world people with mental illness go through, people who are trapped by the darkness. Who live in isolation and sadness. They can discuss the relationship between family and friends or romantic relationships. This can then help me get the message across in my photographs. Her techniques and use of camera controls can help me experiment with the settings to create my project.
Maren Klemp uses multiple exposures over her photographs to create smooth textures and faded images. This is seen in the photographs that include a white sheet and ones including water. This creates a haunting feel towards the photographs. Her photographs are taken in isolated environment where no sign of human creation and design have been really showing he state of mind where people are alone and away from society. Her work gives an essence of silent within these photographs this has been created from the misty qualities within her photographs and her calm blank facial expressions.
