Photo-shoot Title:
"Do You Feel Insane Yet?"

Photo-Shoot Concept & Aim:

The aim of this photograph is to create visual representations of a  Mental Disorders. First we have the mental disorder of Multiple Personality Disorder. This disorder is a mental process which produces a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. This disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct or split identities or personality states that continually have power over the person's behavior.

Date & Timing:
This photo-shoot will take place on the 29th October 2017 at 1pm. This day was convenient for me to be able to spend time creating this photograph. It allows for a quiet on the location where i took the picture.

Location:

This will take place in Farringdon Field. this place was perfect for the small and over grown patches of grass used to stand in and essentially hide my subject.. This location also allows for the lack of man made objects and no existence of human life.

Props:
For this photoshoot i will need two props. I Will need a suit Jacket to wear as well as a white sheet of fabric to cover my face in. These will be needed for later connotations about the photograph and a better meaning for one to strike out.

Models:
To keep within the theme and style of Self Portrait photography I will be my own model this also goes with the audience in which i wish to attract showing males can have mental disorders.

Team:

For this photograph i will need a teammate to help take this photograph. I Will be the Model for my own photoshoot as well as the photographer, The camera will be on a tripod and on timer but i will need Josh Duggan's help to stand and watch the camera so no harm comes to it while i take these photographs. I will still edit the photograph myself.

Equipment  and Preparation:
The camera I have used for this photoshoot is a Canon EOS 1300D Digital SLR with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DC III lens. The batteries were fully charged before shoot. Tripod was needed and i used a Manfrotto compact advanced aluminium tripod in black The ISO settings will be set to  ISO-400 while the shutter Shutter Speed will be set on 1/6000 seconds and an Aperture of  f/3.6

Desired Shots:

My desired shot is the subject to be standing alone in the middle of the photograph with

Do You Feel Insane Yet 2

Product

The genre of this photoshoot is digital manipulation because of the surreal nature of it as well as the post production work i had to do to create this.Camera Controls were set with Aperture set to f/3.6 the Shutter Speed was 1/6000 seconds and ISO was set to ISO-400.Natural Light has been used for my photograph as we were outdoors and it was a sunny day which we took advantage of.

Visual Elements are used as Successful photos rely on order, and the main elements that bring and emphasize order in a composition are: line, shape, form, texture, pattern, and color.
Line has been used with the lines created from the tall grass with in the photograph. Alternative lines can also be shown on the suit jacket. Shape can be seen by the areas defined by the multiple subjects within my piece. Form can be seen as i have created depth within my work as the different sizes of the figures create a three dimensional quality to the photograph. Tone is difficult to use within this piece as because of the natural light and the environment dark tones are not present instead we have a large quantity of light tones. Which quite frankly contrast the dark tones of the clothes. Colour can be seen because of the natural light making the colours more warm and vibrant. Space has been used as it has been taken up by the subjects which are scattered around. Texture can be seen on the floor, in the grass bushes and on the trousers.Pattern Is present within the repetition of the subject.

In the visual arts, composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements or 'ingredients' in a work of art, as distinct from the subject. The term composition means 'putting together' and can apply to any work of art from music to writing to photography that is arranged using conscious thought. Vantage Points are one composition that has been used. Framing and Cropping has been used as i have cropped out the subjects and placed them within the picture framing them where they need to be. Rule Of Thirds is a rule i have broken the subjects dont  correctly sit on the sectors. Rule Of Odds and Evens is present as the number of figures is 8 and a even number creates an imbalance. Rule Of Triangles is seen in the arm fold where the subject is taking off the mask. Rule Of Space allows the photograph to convey a certain message.Symmetry is not necessarily used. Repetition and Pattern are used with the repetition of the subjects. Simplification was not needed for this photograph and so has not been used.

The Narrative of this photograph is to represent both conflicting multiple personality disorder or a Dissociative identity disorder this is  is a mental disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring identities or dissociated personality states. These states alternately show in a person's behavior, accompanied by memory impairment for important information not explained by ordinary forgetfulness. These symptoms are not accounted for by substance abuseseizures, or other medical conditions, nor by imaginative play in children. Dissociative symptoms range from common lapses in attention, becoming distracted by something else, and daydreaming, to pathological dissociative disorders. As well as an identity disorder or crisis where the subject loses a sence of who they are as a person. We see the multiple version of the individual through out the photograph and this is to represent all the other personalities and identities the subject has. Each a mask over the face to show they can be anything (and so the audience can identify with the subject in the photograph easier) it conveys the message that the individuals identity is interchangeable and can be created and come out in multiple personas.

Evaluation

What i wanted from the shoot:
I wanted to create visual representations of a  Mental Disorders known as a Multiple Personality Disorder.
Did I achieve this?
I believe i have successfully achieved this with the composition of multiple copies of subjects around the photograph.
How can I Improve Further?

.I could possibly have a clear photograph of one of the figures right next to the camera. However i could improve my work by changing the colours, saturation and hues of the work to make it seem more erie and cold instead of a bright sunny day. Subjects could also be closer to the camera and more clear.

Follow Up Progress

This will link into my next photoshoot by using one subject instead of multiple copies of the subject. To contrast this photoshoot
