Alex Stoddard was born November 15, 1993 is an American fine art photographer currently residing in Orange, CA.
Stoddard started photography at the age of 16 in his backyard. He used his mom's camera to take self-portraits in the woods behind his house. he shared his work on Flickr and within a year's time gained a following of tens of thousands.His following escalated during his 365 Project in 2011, where Stoddard took one self-portrait every day for a year.He says, "I spent most of the year engaged in the project by myself, so I had a lot of time to delve into my own mind and really come to know myself." His photos during this time were widely recognized by many media outlets such as My Modern Metropolis and Refinery 29. Stoddard has shot album covers for musical groups Paper Route and The Futures and continues to produce work for magazines and galleries. He was named one of the Top 20 Photographers Under 20 by Yahoo! in 2014.
Alex Stoddards work will help influence and support my designs with the colours and gradients added over his photographs. His Visual Elements and his compositions of the work are very influential to my project. His colour, tones and palette used in his work will help give me ideas on how to develop an effective photograph as well as composition of position of subject and his body movements. As well as the use of props and items around him to enforce messages.
