Landscape
Ross Hoddinott

From the early age of 10 Ross Hoddinott was intrigued with the natural world. Ross made a hobby of studying ponds and wildlife around North Cornwall where his parents live. At the age of 11 Ross Hoddinott won BBC Countryfile’s junior flora and fauna category in their annual photo competition this then secured his desire to become a Photographer
Landscape photography can range to extreme long shots or the microscopic of the world’s beauty. Typically nature of fields and flowers but could also focus on insects and bugs not to mention buildings and cities of manmade design
I like the photography of the sunset on the seaside that Ross Hoddinott has captured. It makes me feel warm and at peace. The texture of the rocks in the centre of the image is quite remarkable you can see the layers of stone made from thousands of years the rough texture of them. Yet to contrast the stones of the earth, the water of the sea is so calm and smooth. The heavy black clouds that lurk on the top of the photograph fade away as the light from the sun shines above the mountain on the horizon
I Believe that Ross Hoddinott is trying to communicate a message of hope and faith into us. Personally the photographs he has taken that i have selected show and give off the feeling of dreams and goals, life ambitions that can be accomplished he has achieved this through his use is visual elements such as tone seen by the dark and light areas of his photographs as well as the outstanding colour captured in the photographs that really intensify the message.
