Rule of Thirds

Divide he image into thirds as shown - if the main visual components (things in the image) lie on or near the lines then the image often tends to look 'right'. In this image the horizon line is on tone the bisector.

The photographer Stephen Collins uses the rule of third with in photograph as Tommy is sitting on the axis of the lines of grid. He uses tone of the dark night and a light on Tommy to contrast the light and dark of the war and the soldiers. The goodness of the innocent soldiers who lost all they had in the dark evil of the World War . He uses the visual element of space to portray Tommy in this photograph by letting him sit and face the space in front of him, the space of the dark night. Using the rule of thirds we give this photograph the element of space portraying a visual metaphor using the form of this sculpture to capture its mood, his tired and disappointing emotions towards the war are shown with in this photograph.

The photographer Stephen Collins uses the rule of third within this photograph as the church is on the bottom left corner of the photograph and the corner of the church sits on the corner of the lines. He uses the visual elements of form and space to show the objects (buildings) within this photograph. He uses to sky and stars to surround the buildings with space while showing the width, length and depth of the architectural design.Using the rule of thirds we give this photograph the visual element of space

My photography uses 1/180 seconds with its F-stop set to f/5.6. Its ISO was set the ISO-200. I have composition in this photograph because of my use  of the rule of third. This is shown as i have placed the monument up the left side Y axis. This has elements of Stephen Collins' photography within the photograph as my object is placed on the left side of the frame with loads of space around it.

My photography uses 1/210 seconds with its F-stop set to f/5. Its ISO was set the ISO-400. This has elements of Stephen Collins' photography within the photograph as my object is placed on the left side of the frame with loads of space around it. I have used composition in this photograph because of my use  of the rule of third. This is shown as i have placed the bandstand up the left side Y axis.
